On March 1951, the United States Information Service (USIS)
the former name of the Thomas Jefferson Information Center established regional
USIS libraries at Northern Luzon area particularly in Laoag and Tuguegarao to
promote books and reading materials about the United States with a total
collection of 8,653 materials and eventually after two years of operation, both
USIS were ceased.
On January 14, 1985, the United States Information Service
reopened one of its American Corner at Mariano Marcos State University, Batac,
Ilocos region.
Thank you Mariano Marcos State University for your continued
support in promoting open access library and information exchange between
the Philippines and the United States and more years of continued partnership
and friendship.
