American Shelves Roadshow at Quezon City Public Library highlights World Wildlife Day




On March 6, teachers, students, and government employees of Quezon City participated in Thomas Jefferson Information Center's American Shelves Roadshow event at the Quezon City Public Library. TJIC showcased library resources such as books, posters and online resources related to Wildlife Conservation and featured short videos on Wildlife Trafficking in raising awareness about the World Wildlife Day celebrated every 3rd of March. The participants showed their great interest on the vast free online resources of the U.S. Government to fight Wildlife trafficking and promote Wildlife Conservation in the Philippines. #WorldWildlifeDay

American Shelves Roadshow at Congressional Library Bureau features International Women’s Day


On March 6, in celebration of the International Women’s day, the Thomas Jefferson Information Center introduced and exhibited books and posters of successful American women and featured short videos of former U.S. Congresswomen such as Nancy Pelosi, the first speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives at the Congressional Library Bureau, Philippine House of Representatives. The employees of the House of Representatives showed their great interest on the resources related to women’s history in the United States.

American Shelves Roadshow at MAPUA Makati






On February 14, the American Spaces - Thomas Jefferson Information Center's American Shelves Roadshow showcased TJIC's online resources and newly-acquired materials to American Shelf at MAPUA Institute of Technology, Makati. 





In celebration of the Black History Month, TJIC Associate Randolf Mariano also introduced and exhibited resources such as books, articles, videos and even QR code-based poster show about the well-known African-American Leaders in the United States. Three-hundred fifty 350 Students and faculty participated on the said event and showed their great interest on TJIC's online resources about the history of African-American in the United States. #mapuamakati #americanshelvesroadshow

American Shelves Roadshow at PLM




On February 7, the American Spaces - Thomas Jefferson Information Center's American Shelves Roadshow showcased newly-acquired materials for American Shelf at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (University of the City of Manila). TJIC Staff introduced eLibraryUSA resources for humanities and literature students. The TJIC also exhibited online information, documentary videos and poster show of well-known African-American in the United States in celebration of the Black History Month. Students showed their great interest in TJIC's online resources, and social media engagement. #plm#americanshelvesroadshow

American Shelves Roadshow at LPU




The Thomas Jefferson Information Center's American Shelves Roadshow rolled out its 4th roadshow at Lyceum of the Philippines University last February 5, 2013. About 80 students and faculty of the university had an opportunity to learn and explore eLibraryUSA, the digital library of the U.S. Embassy. Cultural Affairs Officer Kristin Kneedler introduced the newly-added resources to American Shelf at Lyceum of the Philippines University. LPU officials and students showed great interest to the new resources of the shelf and TJIC's eLibraryUSA. #lpu #americanshelvesroadshow

American Shelves Roadshow at National Library of the Phil.


The PAS Thomas Jefferson Information Center staff visited the National Library of the Philippines, one of 33 American Shelf (AS) institutions in the Philippines. About 30 public librarians attended the Thomas Jefferson Information Center (TJIC) briefing session and the TJIC Director Gianina Cabanilla and Associate Randolf Mariano introduced the eLibraryUSA, the digital library of the U.S. Embassy to enhance programs and activities that will promote diplomacy between the Philippines and the United States . Participants showed great interest in the interface of TJIC's online resources
